ITALY: Clivet has started production of its newly launched R32 heat pump at its plant in Feltra, Belluno, northern Italy.
Clivet’s new ELFOEnergy Sheen EVO and ELFOEnergy Storm EVO are reportedly the product of an alliance between Clivet and Chinese air conditioner manufacturer Midea. Midea acquired an 80% stake in the company in 2016, leading to close cooperation between the respective R&D teams of the two companies.
ELFOEnergy Storm EVO (WSAN-YES) is a new range of R32 external built-in air-to-water heat pumps with full DC inverter. They will be offered in five sizes from 53 kW to 91 kW.
The partnership with Clivet will allow Midea to strengthen its presence in the European market and the Italian plant will become the group’s European center of excellence. The establishment of production lines in Italy changed the trend of establishing production bases in China. This policy came into effect in 2017 with the launch of the AQUA range of domestic heat pumps in Italy.
