Conventional air source heat pumps are limited and cannot operate in heating mode at low ambient temperatures. With optimized speed-controlled compressors, external speed-controlled fans and advanced AAON controls, a zero temperature cold climate air source heat pump expands the application of a compression heat pump for heating over a wide range of climates down to 0°F. AAON is already conducting research and development to expand the product line with higher capacity devices and extend the operating range to lower ambient temperatures.
