LONDON, UK – 14 March 2022 At Samsung Climate Solutions, we believe that in order to achieve the government’s heating decarbonisation goals, awareness of green heating options such as heat pumps must be raised. To help make this happen, we partnered with architectural designer Charlie Luxton to promote the importance of this technology.
Charlie’s own architectural practice is known for presenting TV shows such as Building Dreams and Homes by the Sea, conveying his passion for the environment and sustainable architecture. His expertise and innovative design approach make Charlie a natural ambassador for Samsung’s eco-heating systems.
We continue to innovate, develop and optimize our air source heat pump products to support the transition to cleaner, greener energy sources.Whereas conventional gas boilers use fossil fuels such as natural gas or oil to heat buildings or provide hot water, Samsung’s air-source heat pumps use electricity and energy from the outside air to generate heat.
Talking about his passion for the topic, Charlie said: “In terms of sustainable design and green heating, the housing stock produces a lot of carbon dioxide. So obviously if you’re interested in the environment and climate change and you’re involved building, then there is a huge problem that needs to be solved.”
“If we’re talking about the numbers we need to hit, you need big companies to invest and grow, and the fact that Samsung is doing that is a really good combination for the challenges we already have. Companies that are interested in bringing heat pump technology to market, but also to provide a wider support mechanism for people to understand what heat pumps mean and how they should be used, is what we need.”
Regarding his vision for decarbonization over the next decade, Charlie explained: “We need to make serious national investments in our housing stock. Fundamentally, I think we need a big push to insulate and change heat sources; there has to be a closely coordinated approach. .”
Jon Brigly, Marketing Manager for Samsung Climate Solutions, added: “Charlie is a great partner for us as we share a passion for driving the transition to low carbon heating. We look forward to collaborating on content to increase awareness of air source heat pumps and awareness of how to heat homes more sustainably.”
