New range of small chillers (cooling units), operating in cooling and heat pumps, offering cooling and heating capacities from 16 kW to 90 kW.They complement the Daikin R-32 product line for commercial air conditioners.Capacity range, compactness, wide operating range and high energy efficiency are the main advantages of this new series. With over 90 years of experience designing and manufacturing innovative heating and cooling technologies, Daikin is the first company in the world to introduce heat pumps and air conditioners with low GWP (Global Warming Potential) R-32 refrigerant.
“As an industry leader, we have a responsibility to accelerate the sustainable transformation of the HVAC-R market by harnessing the power of air to provide healthy and comfortable indoor environments. We continue to invest in improving comfort, energy efficiency, control and reliability, and introduce new innovative products that allow our customers to reduce their environmental impact. The R-32 small inverter chiller has a lower refrigerant charge than the R-410A unit and has a low global warming potential (GWP), making it an environmentally friendly solution solution. It is fast to install, easy to maintain and offers excellent energy efficiency”, says Daniel Vasile, Managing Director of Daikin România.
The range is distinguished by its level of efficiency, the best on the market in both cooling and heating modes, and the lowest levels of direct and indirect CO2 emissions.Compared to R-410A systems commonly used in commercial buildings, R-32 refrigerant reduces global warming impact by 71%, reduces GWP by 68%, and uses less refrigerant.
Its quiet operation, advanced connectivity and wide range of operating constraints make the new R-32 Small Inverter Chiller the ideal solution for a wide variety of HVAC projects – from comfort to process applications.Chilled-only versions offer 25 ˚C to -15 ˚C chilled water and -20 ˚C to 45 ˚C standard ambient temperature operation. An optional high ambient temperature kit allows the unit to operate at external ambient temperatures above 45 °C and up to 52 °C.Additionally, the heat pump is designed to handle an extended ambient temperature range of -20 ˚C to 35 ˚C and can produce hot water up to 60 °C.
Standout features that come standard with the series include a Daikin-designed DCInverter scroll compressor, optimized copper-aluminum coils and brazed plate heat exchangers. The unit also includes a high-efficiency Daikin Design DC inverter fan with selectable silent mode, and an inverter pump kit with low-lift and high-lift variants.
Daikin also continuously invests in providing state-of-the-art connectivity and monitoring capabilities. This range of intelligent control solutions is designed for the highest levels of performance and system flexibility. The R-32 Small Inverter Chiller can communicate with any external Building Management System (BMS) and offers a master-slave option as standard – allowing up to 4 units to be sequenced and connected, including designating one as the master.
The new series also stands out for its enhanced ability to connect to the internet via IoT.A dedicated mobile configuration app makes commissioning very fast and easy. The intelligent control solution for the new small inverter chiller also includes Daikin on-site, remote monitoring and system optimization within Daikin’s proprietary cloud platform, ensuring full control of the unit through detailed monitoring, online alarm troubleshooting and remote control.
The new series reinforces Daikin’s leadership in product design and development featuring R-32 refrigerant. In 2018, Daikin made history as an early innovator with the launch of the first R32 refrigerant chiller, followed by the free cooling scroll unit in the same year and the R-32 heat pump in 2020.
Today, Daikin leads the market with the largest number of R-32 installations in the world – a testament to Daikin’s experience and knowledge, as well as the quality and reliability of its R-32 products. With the introduction of the new R-32 Small Inverter Chiller, the global brand continues to provide the air conditioning industry with sustainable solutions for the future.
