UK: The focus of the UK air conditioning and refrigeration industry will turn to London next week, when the HVAC & Refrigeration Show will be held at ExCel.
Since 2012, the Biennale, formerly known as the ACR Show, has been held every two years at the NEC in Birmingham. The 2018 show, renamed the HVAC & Refrigeration Show, will take place at Excel in London from January 23-25.
The organisers, once the only UK show dedicated to the UK air conditioning and refrigeration industry, sought to expand the coverage of the previous show in 2016 to attract heating and ventilation technology. This year, it took it a step further and changed its name to the HVAC and Refrigeration Show.
Despite this change, the small amount of heating content at this year’s show means it’s still largely a cooling and air conditioning event.
The exhibitor list includes around 80 companies, which is far from insignificant compared to the more than 100 companies at the last show. However, this year’s event featured many new names, new products and some major UK launches.
Chief among them is the air-conditioning industry, where Haier and Midea product lines have been launched or at least relaunched.
Entering the UK market for the third time, Haier will showcase a variety of products from its product portfolio, such as the commercial super-match series, multi-split and single-split residential series, and hot water heat pump products.
The main highlight will be Haier’s new MRV-V VRF air conditioner series.Pre-launch information indicates that the new VRF will be available in single module sizes of 8-26hp, with a maximum module combined of 104hp.Using DC inverter compressor, the main functions include automatic refrigerant charging, automatic addressing, automatic oil balance and intelligent defrosting.
The HVAC & Refrigeration Show will also see the full launch of FG Europe UK in the UK as the exclusive UK distributor of Midea air conditioning products. While Midea’s equipment was previously available in the UK, this latest joint venture is linked to the Greek-owned Feidakis Group.
When it comes to refrigeration, Spanish display case manufacturer Exkal brings its innovative range to the UK.It has four manufacturing sites in Spain, factories in China and Chile, and a global network of sales branches and dealers.
