The renovation of the 215-year-old Angus Kirk’s housing will be a "wonderful thing"

But Senator Angus now welcomes Gilbert Nicoll’s plan to transform the historic Kirkton of Tealing building into a three-bedroom family home.
The conversion will preserve the important monument in the church-and the pulpit as a feature of the living room.
The windows that have been sealed for many years will be reinstalled with the same design, and the open ground floor will retain the existing doors and woodwork.
The building was originally built in 1806 on the site of a former medieval church and is believed to be dedicated to St. Peter.
Although the building was previously described as “very plain”, the church was listed as a category A due to the important carved stone inside.
There is also a stele carved in 1380 to commemorate Ingram of Catherine (Priest of Tealing and Archdeacon of Dunkeld).
Committee convener David Lumgail said that Angus Church has had many successful residential renovations, including Denizin in his council ward.
