TRCA Offers Incentives to Install Hybrid Air Heat Pumps in SNAP Communities

Owner, pay attention! Ready to replace your air conditioner? You may be eligible to take advantage of our new rewards program!
The Toronto Environmental Protection Authority and the Regional Environmental Protection Authority (TRCA) are offering a $2,000 incentive to homeowners living in SNAP communities in the Peel Region to install an air source hybrid heat pump to work with an existing stove.
This incentive offers homeowners the cost of switching to an energy-efficient electric heat pump at about the price of a new air conditioner. Only 8 awards available. The deadline for applications is September 26, 2022.
This incentive is a joint effort of the TRCA Sustainable Community Action Plan (SNAP) and the Sustainable Technology Evaluation Program (STEP).
Air source heat pumps are the latest home heating and cooling technology that is growing in popularity.
Hybrid air source heat pumps work with your stove to heat and cool your home. They can help reduce your home’s carbon footprint and protect you from rising gas bills.
The Hybrid Air Heat Pump Incentive Program was made possible by funding from the Climate Impact Fund.
Have you installed an air source heat pump to heat your home? We’d love to hear about your experience with a heat pump so we can share it with other homeowners.
Please complete our short survey. The first 25 answers have a chance to win a $25 gift card. The survey was directed to single-family homeowners in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton areas who have installed air source heat pumps and used them to heat their homes for at least one winter.
The survey was conducted by the Toronto and Territory Conservation Authority (TRCA) as part of the Sustainable Community Action Plan (SNAP) and the Sustainable Technology Assessment Program (STEP). This takes about 15 minutes.
